Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to get a flawless score of 10 during an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was just six years old. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she was crowned champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an all-around junior champion. Her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champ winning four gold medals and one silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven parallel bars. The journey of Carol Wayne into the realm of entertainment started as a teenager. Together with her sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. Ice Capades showcased performances of skaters ice skating with actors.
